I bought 1 of these radar detectors for a recent family trip and it worked so good I had to buy 2 more for my sisters that were along for that trip. Example, we were riding along maybe doing 5 mph over the speed limit when it started going off, about a half mile further we came up on 2 state patrol cars backed up against a vacant building, hidden from view by several trees, this was a speed trap if there ever was one. Thanks for a great product Whistler, and thanks for a great price Amazon.

I bought this unit 8/10 to use for my commute to work. I noticed the unit has very poor range unless the source is directly in front of the car. About a month after I bought it, the unit began to malfunction. Every time it detected a signal the proper alarm would sound for a second or two and then the laser alarm would begin to sound and would not turn off until the unit was powered down. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars on a BEL, Valentine, or Escort/Passport. Don't make the same mistake I did.
