I am of the opinion a cheap detector is better than no detector. Having been a frequent visitor to our traffic court system (not by choice) I started investing in radar detectors many, many years ago. I have owned expensive valentines to the cheap cobras/whistlers and can honestly say that even if they give you a little warning, its still better than no warning. This detector is no exception. I got this for my sister as a gift. The DAY she installed it in her car, on her FIRST ride, she gets pulled over. The thing had never once emitted a beep. After the cop was parked behind her and walking up to her window, the detector finally gave off one feeble little beep, and then remained silent...as the cop wrote her a $293 dollar ticket. Can I at least get her a deduction on the price of the joke detector?
