Ultra performance digital radar-laser detector with extra detection range for advance warning.
12-Band Detection
Detects 6 radar, 4 laser and 2 safety signals. Radar signals include X Band, K Band, Ka Superwide, Ku Band, VG-2 and Spectre. Laser signals include LTI 20-20, Ultra Lyte, ProLaser and ProLaser III. Safety signals include Safety Alert and Strobe Alert.

The most important thing I want to say about this one is... It does NOT have that ever annoying BEEP BEEP that penetrates through your skull that forces you to mute the thing and then you forget it went off and see the source of the detection!! IT HAS A PLEASANT TONE (as pleasant as a tone warning you about a speed trap can be...)!! And it even slowly fades quieter... Oh... I LOVE this detector! I plan on replacing all my others with this model! I actually purchased two for both my wife's car and my truck. The day I recieved it I plugged it up, turned it on, and was attempting to install it on my windshield when it said "Ka Band Detected". I was wondering what button I accidentally pushed when I noticed a sheriff's car coming down the main road outside of my subdivision. The distance on mine is outstanding and my wife has had the same results as me. Some people have said it is difficult to program, but I found that it was extremely easy. Also it comes with a short coiled cord but I ordered a long straight one (item #420030N001) for my truck. My next door neighbor liked my XRS 9740 so much that he ordered him one and he loves it too. I have seen some of these one star reviews and just have to laugh! Radar detectors do not always work, or they work too little too late.
