Summary: Nice... 2010-08-19

Comment: I recently purchased this Cobra XRS9445. For the price it is an excellent product. I typically don't speed, but I do want to know where the radar is. After searching around the internet for information, I found this one to be well worth the price in comparison to so many others well over $200. The intellimute and Intellimute Pro functions are something interesting to play with and in time, as I get used to working with it and understanding how I will use it, I can see that they may be very useful. Controls are easy to use and understand. The display is large enough to see clearly and interpret, and with voice alerts, its just that much more easy to understand without taking your eyes off the road. No more deciphering a tone to figure out what type of radar just hit you. This was purchased to replace an old Bell 300i (ancient). In comparison, this has very few false warnings. So far, very impressed.

Comment: I am generally satisfied with the detector and I knew I was not purchasing the top end in radar detectors. It sometimes misidentifies bands, but who cares, if it is still identifying a radar. Ramp up seems to be somewhat slower than I would expect. The special feature that led me to purchase this item was Intellimute, but so far I haven't been able to get it to work. I will try it in a second car today. Customer service on the phone is poor. With all of the above said, I am quite happy with the detector. It generally does what I need it to do and the price was right.

Comment: Got this for the wife... First week she got a ticket, they got her with a plane. The voice is now distorted. When you start the car it sounds like "sister ready" when saying "system ready"... Still finds radar.

Comment: For the price of this product one would think it should last longer than the 4 months it lasted for me. After four months the product has died and no luck on product support from Cobra. So I am only left to believe that Cobra makes an inferior product that does not last. Save the money and just buy from another company. From my short time with a working product it seemed to work but is nothing greater than much cheaper products I've had before.
