High Performance
High performance radar/laser detector with reliable, proven performance.
12-Band Detection
Detects 6 radar, 4 laser and 2 safety signals. Radar signals include X Band, K Band, Ka Superwide, Ku Band, VG-2 and Spectre. Laser signals include LTI 20-20, Ultra Lyte, ProLaser and ProLaser III. Safety signals include Safety Alert and Strobe Alert.
UltraBright Data Display
Provides easy recognition of band detected by use of band identification icons.
Ku Band Detection
Detects Ku Band Radar Gun currently being used in Europe. Be prepared for future introduction in the U.S.
LaserEye
Provides 360-degree detection of laser signals.

Unfortunately, this "Chrome won't get you home" without a ticket.
The description of this item is technically correct but very misleading. While it is a 12-band device here's the meaning behind those 12 bands: Radar signals include X Band - very short range detection capability K Band - very short range detection capability Ka Superwide - very short range detection capability Ku Band - used in Europe - no value in North America VG-2 alert - detectible to currently used VG-2 - undetectible only to unused VG-2 radar detector detectors Spectre-1 detectible to currently used Spectre 2, 3, and 4. - undetectible only to unused Spectre 1 radar detector detectors Laser signals include LTI 20-20 - short range detection, if detects laser, you have already been clocked Ultra Lyte - short range detection, if detects...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful:  Pretty Decent, This review is from: Cobra XRS 9440 High Performance 12 Band Radar/Laser Detector (Electronics) I purchased this product from Target, this product works great I drive a Nissan Versa and it took a while to aim it properly so it gets 360° that Cobra promised. It does pick up some false alarms almost always X band so since its programable and X band is illegal to use in all states except NJ I turned it off highly recommend doing that. Over all it picks up almost all cop cars with radar guns and the voice alert works great and some stuff like the laser alert gets your attention, the safety signal has been more than effective at least in Minnesota. The range is my only complaint other wise it's a great product. Safety Alerts keep going off on their own when I'm alone on a country road....and there's now way to disable this function. A firetruck or ambulance can pass me with lights flashing and the thing doesn't go off. It's sensitivity to radar is the worst ever. The range is only 1-5 so it's difficult to guage whether it's just stray radar or something close. I'll often be right up on a car pulling radar before it makes a sound.
Not anywhere near as good as the Whistler I had that lasted me 10 years. I'm literally gonna smash this piece of junk for a little satisfaction before I buy another Whistler. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A COBRA. |
