360-Degree Protection from Surveillance and Safety Hazards Using advanced technology, the iRadar provides you with full 360-degree radar and laser detection. This means you'll be covered on all sides of your vehicle, without any gaps or blind spots. For every signal that it detects, the iRadar emits a clear alert tone, indicating the location and proximity of the threat.
City and Highway Modes Filter Out False Alerts The iRadar features two different modes: city and highway. If you're driving in an urban area, you can toggle to city mode to filter out annoying false signals caused by automatic doorways. If you're traveling at high speeds, toggle to highway mode and get higher detection sensitivity and immediate alerts.
Exclusive Android App Unlocks Enhanced Features When paired with an Android smartphone, the iRadar offers even better detection service. Using an exclusive, free-to-download Android app, you can wirelessly link your iRadar to your smartphone and enjoy enhanced features. The app provides you with a visual display of your alerts, telling you both the type of alert and its proximity to you. It also displays a history of your alerts on a map, allowing you to see the time and location of each detected signal.
The iRadar app also gives you access to AURA, Cobra's exclusive camera and driving hazard database. AURA uses GPS technology to alert you of photo-enforced areas as you approach them. The alerts are delivered based on your speed: The faster you are going, the more advanced the warning is. This gives you ample time to react and slow down. The database boasts tens of thousands of entries and is updated every 12 hours by Cobra's team.
The Cobra iRadar Detection System is backed by a limited one-year warranty.

Brilliant concept with a lot of glitches,
November 14, 2010 Keola (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cobra iRadar iRAD-100 Radar Detector for iPhone and iPod touch (Electronics)
The Good:
- Brilliant concept by using the iPhone as a display unit
- Excellent display: speedometer, car voltage, compass.
- Easy to read while driving (I mounted it below my factory GPS unit)
- Easy installation of iRadar app
- Locations of Photo Radar
- Power adapter with iPhone power USB plug in
The Bad:
- Too many false alarms, X & K bands
- Ka alert did not beep until cop was in sight, about 50 yards
- Lack of sunvisor clip
- Black mirror finish scratces very easily
The Ugly:
- Display often resets to iPhone home screen, between 20 minutes to an hour
- Have to reset functions to your liking after display resets to iPhone home screen; city/highway mode, turn on/off multiple bands, auto mute etc.
- Power cord is too short for a cleaner installation.
I have tested the iRadar for 2 road trips in the last 10 days (LA to San Diego and LA to Las Vegas) and both were quite frustrating...Read more

Do NOT buy this detector until they update the iPhone app!!!,

This review is from: Cobra iRadar iRAD-100 Radar Detector for iPhone and iPod touch (Electronics)
Do a little research before you purchase this radar detector. Don't buy this for someone for Christmas. They WILL be disappointed unless the promised app update fixes all of the problems.
I have personally had this unit in my car for well over a month. It worked well for about the first week, maybe two. After that, it was nearly useless. The detector intermittently communicates with the iPhone which disables your visual alerts so that the detector basically becomes a stand-alone radar detector. So, when the detector beeps, it's a guessing game as to what the detector is detecting, unless you can memorize the different beeps. Since there is no users manual included with the unit, you have to guess and then remember the different types of beeps if you want to know what the detector is picking up. From my count, there are at least 8 different types of beeps, probably more.
Just look at Cobra's own website to see the frustrations that customers are having...Read more

People are ignorant. Very, very ignorant.,

To anyone who wrote a poor review of this product:
1. Radar Detectors pick up RADAR SIGNALS. Believe it or not, police do not emit a signal all the time. In fact, they rarely do. If your detector did not see the cop, GROW UP. HE DIDN'T HAVE HIS RADAR ON.
2. If you need a manual for this device, then there is something wrong with you. I've never seen more vague, blind anger at the lack of some "idiot instructions." You own an iPhone/Android Phone, you pilot an automobile, you probably even have a job. I think downloading one application from the worlds easiest app store and pairing a bluetooth device is entirely within your capability. If not, go grab a $20 Whistler at Walmart. I'm sure the cigarette lighter will keep you entertained for hours.
3. Its $60 and brand new. Get a life. Its not perfect, its DIRT CHEAP. I have a $500 customized Valentine One hardwired into my car with external display. It gives me false positives all day long. Guess what,...Read more
