Nine-Band Protection
The ESD 7100 provides detection and separate alerts for radar signals (X, K and Ka bands, with signal strength indicated), laser, VG-2, and detector-detector signals.

LaserEye Technology
Cobra's LaserEye provides 360-degree detection of laser signals.

VG-2 Undetectable
Provides complete immunity to VG-2 radar detector-detectors, making your device "invisible" but still alerting you to their use.

Instant-On Ready
Detects radar guns with "instant-on" (very fast) speed monitoring capabilities, thanks to ultra-sensitive K-band detection.

Tone Alerts
A distinctly different Alert tone is used for each type of signal detected (including separate tones for each laser signal). For X, K and Ka bandradar signals, the tones will repeat faster as you approach the signal source. The repeat rate of the tones gives you useful information about the signal detected.

UltraBright Data Display
Provides easy recognition of band detected by use of band identification icons.

City/Highway Modes
Allows the user to select operating mode, reducing the frequency of falsing in densely polulated urban areas.

Safety Alert
Warns drivers of the presence and/or approaching emergency vehicles, railroad crossing, and road hazard locations equipped with Cobra's exclusive Safety Alert transmitters.

Manual Mute Or Auto Mute
Set the Auto Mute function to automatically mute alert tones after initial warning, to avoid annoyance.

Summary: What a waste of money! 2010-08-25

Comment: We past several highway patrol speeding traps and it never once went off, but it went off for a lot of unnecessary locations! The best part, we got a speeding ticket and it never went off! Don't buy it and trust me it doesn't matter what state you are because we used it when we went through 3 states!

Oh almost forgot, I received the item later than promised when purchasing. After I submitted the payment they changed the estimated delivery date!

Comment: This radar detector is not very reliable. It picks up the cop after you already see him or literally 1 second before he comes around the corner- not giving you enough time to even slow down. I would definitely not recommend this radar detector for anyone at all. I just bought a new Cobra XRS 9960G and hopefully it'll work a lot better than this piece of junk.

Summary: Works well, for a great price 2010-08-11

Comment: This radar detector works very well. I always use this radar while driving on the Highway to give me more of a sense of security while driving. This radar has a bright display with a loud alarm easily heard over music and the suction cups stick great, never falling off. The radar does pick up the "current speed signs" that display your speed to remind you but I do not consider that a false alarm. I have driven past police with it not going off but this is because they do not have their radar on and the radar will only pick up police that do have it on. When the radar displays "K,Ka" it is always a police with radar. I have never had "K,Ka" be a false alarm. When "X" is on display that has always been a false alarm, normally going off in front of stores. This radar is not fool proof. The one thing I wish was better about it would have to be that it gives you more warning time. On a couple occasions i have had it go off when I am right about to go past a cop and have very little time to slow down. All in all, this is a great radar for the price. I use it all the time and it works every time. I recommend this product.

Summary: Cobra 9 band great. 2010-07-13

Comment: This thing works great around my community. Haven't tried it out on any long rides yet. Picks them up in front and behind. Small city is fairly easy to go a little over speed limit and police are strict. Not encouraging speeding, but ... Thinking about getting one for all the vehicles in the family. One ticket from State Trooper would pay for all of them. False alert constantly in certain places, (railroad crossings, etc.) but doesn't bother me.

Comment: I purchased this radar for my mother, who desperately needed one. She's had it for a while now and it's worked really well. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a simple first radar.
