The six-band device monitors radar from the X, K, and Ka Superwide bands, while also using its 360-degree LaserEye to perceive laser signals from any direction. Should a radar or laser gun be pointed in your direction, the ESD-7000 will alert you immediately, letting you rest easy while cruising through speed traps. In addition, the ESD-7000 is immune to both VG2 and Spectre 1 technologies, making it invisible to officers scanning for radar detectors on the freeway--a common tactic in certain states. Meanwhile, drivers who want to avoid traffic snarls caused by accidents or roadwork will appreciate the Safety Alert function, which scans for emergency vehicles outfitted with Safety Alert transmitters.

6 Band Detection
The ESD 7000 detects all four speed monitoring systems plus VG-2 and Safety Alert signals: X Band Radar, K Band Radar, Ka Superwide Radar, VG-2 Alert System, all laser signals, and Safety Alert traffic warning system.

VG-2 Alert
Provides immunity to VG-2 detection. VG-2 is a "detector detector" that works by detecting low-level signals emitted by most radar detectors. Your detector does not emit signals that can be detected by VG-2, but does detect VG-2 signals and will alert you when a device is in use near your vehicle.

UltraBright Data Display
Provides easy recognition of band detected by use of band identification icons.

LaserEye
Provides 360-degree detection of laser signals.

Safety Alert

Comment: this unit was not that great.. I was suppose to be 360degree radar and
on my way home from Delaware it did not pick it up.
It seemed to work the rest of my travels.

Summary: Cobra detectors suck 2009-07-26
Comment: Do not purchase a Cobra radar detector...their product does work at first with warnings as they promise. But, after only a few week, the detector does NOT even detect automatic door openers at Walmart and other radar "detecting" objects. Simply put, this product did not work for me and very disappointed...radar detectors are made to detect - arent they?

IT IS HIGHLY ACCURATE AND DETECTS ALL THE MAJOR SIGNALS IT SAYS IT WILL.
I HAVE HAD MINE FOUR OVER FOUR YEARS, SO WHEN HE WAS TALKING ABOUT ONE, GOT IT FOR HIM FOR HIS BIRTHDAY A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.HE STARTED USING IT AND HAS NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR IT TO, SAYING HE NO LONGER HAS TO WATCH FAR AHEAD FO THE BRAKE LIGHT OF VEHICLES HITTING THE SPEED TRAPS SO I
HIGHLY RECCOMEND THISTO EVERYONE. IT HAS SAVED ME NUMEROUS TIMES, AND HAVE NOT EVEN HAD A WARNING SINSE I'VE HAD MINE.

Comment: This is easy to mount, and an excellent investment. I like to drive fast, and so far in about a month it has gotten me out of about 15 tickets. It lets you know way ahead of time when a cop has its radar on, plenty of time to get to speed limit. It works great.
