I always wanted a radar gun, since the first time I saw one on a Radio Shack catalog in the late 80s. Therefore when it was time to reward myself with a new gadget, I looked into the options. Definitively I wanted something regulated by FCC part 15 and not part 90 (part 90 requires FCC license). So, no "police radar guns", just the "sports" one. I liked a lot the "pocket radar gun", but at $199.99 I could not justify it. I then looked into the bushnell family of radar guns: Speedster, Speedster II, Velocity, and Speedster III. After some research I found the Speedster II and the Velocity models are now the same, both around $80. As with all Speedster models, they are bushnell's models produced for a specific vendor. Both models look like a hair dryer and that definitely did not scored well on the "cool factor" with me. This Bushnell radar gun is a good buy. My son uses it for pitching and it radars almost every pitch. Overall this is a inexpensive way for all baseball players to know how fast their throwing.

Purchased Bushnell III after I returned the Speedster II, the III is a much better tool. It worked without any hassle. The extra money is well spent to get a better quality radar gun.
