Comment: Okay first of all, I see too many complaints that it's not working or it's spewing out too many false alarms. This is a RADAR detector not a cop detector. Nowhere does it say that it detects cops. Not all cops have radar in the cruisers. I know the cops in my city don't. It's particularly useful on the freeway when you just want to watch your speed to avoid getting a ticket. It's already saved my balls twice in one month. The false alarms aren't really false. Grocery stores doors often emit the same radar bands as police radar guns and the radar detector is simply doing it's job: detecting radar.

Know what you're buying and don't complain if it's not what you want. There's no such thing as a cop detector.


EDIT: I remember the complaints earlier saying Amazon isn't an authorized reseller. Well, they are. I asked a CSR and they confirmed that Amazon is an authorized reseller. Just make sure it's Amazon selling it not a 3rd party through Amazon!

Update: It's already saved me once from a $300 ticket in California! It's already paid for itself.

Comment: I bought this one as a gift after 3 years of use (still going strong) with an older edition of the same model. The gift was well-received, and seems to work quite well for him.

For mine, after nearly 4 years, the clip mechanism that holds it to the suction cup mount is not quite as "springy" as it once was ... sometimes requiring some tinkering to make it stay without sliding off. So far, this is the only issue. It has been reliable, functional, and incredibly useful. It has paid for itself many times over.

Highly recommended! In the future, I would probably get a more expensive model that integrates well into a modern laser jamming system, since many of the police in my area seem to be switching to laser.

Comment: I've used many radar detectors, and have travelled cross-country many times for thousands of miles. This radar detector is amazing. in some cases, it would pick-up radar traps up to 3 miles away, no kidding. This thing just works, and works well. forget the other brands out there, Bel is the king!

Comment: Mine went dead after about a year. No mistreatment, just did not wake up when I turned the car on.
Don't buy junk from a company that sells junk (unless you just want to buy a new one every year).

Comment: Bought this as a replacement for one that was stolen. Great detection range, few false alarms. Need better windshield mount. Bought better replacement mount directly from Beltronics website. Highly recommend this product, much cheaper than first ticket.
